Mekelakeya returned to winning ways with a 2-1 win over Dire Dawa City.

Kenean Markneh was expected to be out for a few weeks after his head collision with his teammate last week, but he not only returned to action but got on the scoresheet to give them a 13th minute lead for 1-0.

Mekelakeya was 2-0 up on 26 minutes through Esrael Eshetu, an advantage they will take into the Halftime break.

Dire Dawa managed to claw back one goal on 90+5 minutes through Muhedin Musa to bring the scores down to 2-1 in Mekelakeya's favour but it was too little too late.

Mekelakeya climbs up on the log to 10th on 29 points, some positive movement, and some joy with the goals from some of their high-profile signings.
