Wolkite earned a hard-fought win over Sidama Coffee in their last match to strengthen their resolve to avoid the relegation dogfights.
That win shot them up to 12th and some breathing space and another win over Ethio Electric will really change their trajectory and bring them into a different conversation with the big Boys.
They managed to achieve something they haven't been doing consistently, win without the goals of their Captain and leader, Getaneh Kebede.
Kebede has been more involved with creating the goals, and this win, their first in over 5 weeks means a great deal to Wolkite.
Mekelakeya should ideally be challenging for honours given how far they went in the transfer season to recruit some of the most talented players in the League.
Mekelakeya are 10th on the log with 26points, followed by Wolaitta Dicha in 11th with 24 points, and both have been struggling for form and while not so much threatened by the relegation battles below them, they will do well to pick up valuable points to stay well clear.
A win for Mekelakeya, automatically takes them up to 6th above the likes of Ethiopia Coffee, Fasil City, Adama and Dire Dawa City who all have 27 points each.
